Success story
Supported organization:
Vitropole Entreprendre
Network of 800 companies, 16,000 jobs.
CONTEXT:
Wanting to develop the circular economy in its territory, Vitropole Entreprendre opted for support in deploying an ITE (Industrial and Territorial Ecology) approach. This approach had the following major objectives:
- strengthen cooperation links between economic actors present in the concerned territory.
- promote the optimization of flows or resources between these actors (raw materials, equipment, premises, human resources, etc.).
- improve waste recovery.
- preserve natural capital (water, green spaces).
- promote territorial resilience (through the development of short supply chains).
- maintain economic attractiveness for businesses and their employees, seeking favorable work environments.
- reduce its environmental impact.
WITH MY SUPPORT:
In 2 years, we worked on:
- an initial assessment.
- the structuring and facilitation of a multidisciplinary steering committee and technical committee.
- the purpose of the approach, strategic orientation choices and co-construction of an action plan.
- the inventory of potential flows that could be subject to substitution or sharing solutions between companies.
- the implementation of Business meetings promoting circular economy.
- the launch of a shared collection and reuse solution for professional textile waste.
- organization of awareness events such as an eco-responsible fashion show, thematic webinars.
- the enhancement of a green space with the implementation of a regenerative hydrology solution (rainwater capture and recovery) and restoration of natural habitats.
- acculturation to circular economy among employees through various communication channels.
- the definition and monitoring of performance indicators (volume of recovered waste, number of inter-company synergies created, number of thematic events organized, participation rate).
Key results
Recognition for implementing a sustainable development plan
2t textiles, 10t paper, 5.2t electronics = 43t CO2 avoided
Textile solution implemented ahead of regulatory changes
Inter-company collaborations in the territory
A concrete and more structured circular economy approach, increased collaboration between economic actors in the same territory, measurable results.
